Today we mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day, with Battle of Britain Class No.34081 '92 Squadron', filmed during the locomotives visit to The Watercress Line in July 2017. 34081 ‘92 Squadron’ was released to traffic in 1948. The name is after the famous Spitfire Squadron formed at Tangmere from where it took part in the Battle of Britain. In 1964 it was withdrawn by British Railways having completed 741,511 miles in service. It entered preservation in 1976 after escaping from the scrapyard. | Adrian Watson
