Using the PaintON paper was interesting for this Golden Retriever drawing. My absolute favourite paper for pastels is Pastelmat but after drawing the kitten on this paper 6 months ago I wanted to see how PanPastels worked and comparing them to Pastelmat paper. This paper is much smoother than Pastelmat which does mean it has limitations but by using the right techniques it did still enable me to create a photo realistic portrait.
