Happy Birthday to everyone’s favorite purple dragon, Figment! Journey Into Imagination opened on March 5, 1983. Since EPCOT Center didn’t feature classic Disney characters at the time, Figment became the park’s unofficial mascot and star. The original version of the ride also introduced guests to Dreamfinder, who you could meet outside the Imagination Pavilion with a puppet version of Figment. As the vehicle moved into place, Dreamfinder introduced Figment and the journey began with the iconic Sherman Brother’s song, “One Little Spark”.
