The 2024 Duramax advertises a torque peak of 975 lb-ft at 1,600 RPM, but as Gale Banks found, it’s not usable. We put this 2024 GMC Denali Ultimate on the dyno, ran it at full throttle, then increased the load to bring down the RPM, what we found was that the truck would downshift at 2,150 RPM even if we locked it in gear.
