Well apparently according to the last OV episode, it's actually the Omnitrix itself that causes most of the randomizations, in order to pick the best alien for the job (though that is Ben's interpretation of it, and I think some of the randomizer transformations were the watch being a troll).

In conclusion, Ben 10 is pretty balanced when compared to characters like comic accurate Superman, who lifted the "heavens", or Thor who hit a Celestial in the head with enough force to crack their skull, or Batman having the "Final Batsuit", a suit that, mind you, can alter people's minds, how they THINK. A override code lets ben take off the omnitrix, or a device such as the one vilgax and Kevin used in Back with a vengeance could be used. It’s not impossible to get off just not possible by sliding it off like a normal watch.

Personal theory as to why the omnitrix has a time out function
Jul 11, 2021 · The 10 minute time out function was basically a training wheels program since the first omnitrix was a prototype so having the transformations only be 10 minutes was an easy way of testing the watch while still having full access to whatevwr alien you transform into.
