Dec 31, 2024 · So yeah I hope they do get onto it in the first year itself. I mean oddly enough they were the first to drop 83" OLED from LG Display even before LG themselves. But now as SAMSUNG is set to have 83" QD-OLED model in their lineup. I think SONY will follow suit and have 83" QD-OLED model in their lineup as well.

Nov 25, 2024 · Currently the 88" OLED's only exist with the 8k resolution models. The TV's sold in Asia are worlds beyond what we get here in the west. They get 20k+ dimming zones on their MiniLED's, even the 85", and better quality control on OLED in general. Perhaps long travel distances damages models, but QA seems to be an issue for a lot of OLED's above 77".

Nov 30, 2022 · The Samsung OLED tech uses some kind of blue pixel tech, I wonder if that's a cause. OLED contrast; High refresh rates; The brightness of this newer OLED tech. However to counter some of the above: Both my phone, iPad and PC screens run at 120Hz, and they aren't a problem; My phone and laptop are both 4K OLED screens with high nit levels.

Mar 27, 2024 · The S95D is quite a bit better than the S90D this year as Samsung likely wants the S90D to not steal sales from the flagship like last year. Also, since the S90D uses both QD-OLED and WOLED panels it seems they need a calibration/tone mapping that is compatible with both, so they appear to have held back the QD-OLED panels in doing so.
