The Swedish Army (Swedish: Svenska Armén) is the land force of the Swedish Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Sweden in Northern Europe / Scandinavia. The army's history dates back to the Swedish War of Liberation in 1521.

Regiments were the highest organized organic units in the Swedish Army from the time of Gustavus Adolphus on to the Second World War. In 1949, the Swedish Army was reorganised, with the regiments being used as training units for conscripts during peacetime.

Swedish Armored Troops is the armored branch of the Swedish Army. In 1922, after the World War I, ten tanks were procured and used by Svea Life Guards (I1). In 1928 a tank battalion was organized at Göta Life Guards (I2). The battalion was divided into two battalions in 1939; one in Skaraborg Regiment (I9) and one in Sördermanland Regiment (I10).
