The White House Office of Management and Budget on Wednesday rescinded a memo that froze federal grants and loans and created widespread confusion this week.

Several executive orders Trump signed last week pause or end some federal funding. Those executive orders, which remain in place, include the freezing of foreign aid, all funds to federal grantees who received money for DEI-related purposes and all funds appropriated through the Inflation Reduction Act.

The Trump administration rescinded its order to freeze federal aid spending, just one day after issuing it. The freeze, announced Tuesday, halted nearly all federal grants, loans, and other financial assistance to beneficiaries.
