Heiskanen, whom the Stars drafted No. 3 overall in 2017, is widely regarded as a top-five defenseman in the NHL. With both lockdown defensive abilities and offensive prowess, Heiskanen recorded 25 points in 50 games for the Stars this year after logging 16 points in 19 playoff games for Dallas in 2024.

Defenseman Miro Heiskanen was activated from long-term injured reserve Tuesday, meaning he could return to the Dallas Stars lineup for the first time in 3 1/2 months when they play Game 4 of their second-round NHL playoff series against Winnipeg.

Heiskanen hasn’t played since Jan. 28 and had knee surgery on Feb. 4. The Stars hold a 2-1 series lead over the Jets.
