Highs of 30.8C have been recorded in the Scottish Highlands, as the Met Office says Northern Ireland has seen its warmest day since 2022.

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland recorded their hottest day of the year so far, as the third heatwave of the summer hit its peak on Saturday. Temperatures hit 32.2C in Aviemore in Scotland, while in Wales, a high of 33.1C was recorded at Cardiff's Bute Park. In Northern Ireland, 30C was recorded in Magilligan, County Londonderry.
