LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Metro police are investigating a deadly shooting after a body was discovered in North Las Vegas Thursday. According to LVMPD, the body was discovered near West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street around 3:22 p.m. on Jan. 2. Arriving officers located the body of a man between a building and the railroad tracks.

North Las Vegas Police are asking for the public’s help as they work to locate a missing 61-year-old woman. Lavina Sue Ross was last seen on Monday at around 9:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Arc Dome Avenue near Ann Road and Camino Al Norte.

A man died after being struck by a car on Interstate 15 in North Las Vegas late Saturday night. Nevada Highway Patrol said the man was struck by a vehicle on the southbound on-ramp of Interstate 15 at Lake Mead Boulevard around 11:33 p.m.

A Walmart convenience store could be introduced to an existing supercenter in North Las Vegas. A Walmart Grab N Go convenience store with 10 fuel pumps is proposed for an existing supercenter at 3950 W. Lake Mead Blvd., according to documents submitted to the North Las Vegas Planning Commission.

A woman from Colchester has been reported missing since January 6. Karen Thurgood, 57, was reported missing and Essex Police are appealing to the public for any information to get her home safely. Karen is said to possibly be wearing a dark blue puffer jacket,

The Hawaii Island Police is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman. Jannefer Kaspar, 31, was last seen walking in the Orchidland subdivision in Kurtistown on December 26, 2024, however she was not reported missing until recently.
