A team of state forestry experts says it's important to make canyons along the Wasatch Front more immune to catastrophic wildfires, and new legislation could bring motivation to make them safer.

The Ferry Fire burned across Cottonwood Canyon State Park on June 12. But no buildings were lost and the park will reopen June 20.
