Serious flooding swamped parts of England on Tuesday and snow forced three airports to close temporarily as wet and icy weather combined to extend travel chaos that has plagued the U.K. since the start of the year.

A yellow weather warning is currently in place for snow and ice until midday. The wind will also increase with gusts of 40mph through the daytime. Our BBC Weather Watchers have been up and about early to capture some images of rising flood water.
