Falling trees killed six people in the Philippines after a fierce tropical storm brought strong winds and floods, officials said Sunday.

Four pupils were killed and three others were injured when a falling tree crushed them during Tropical Storm Bebinca in the Philippines. The schoolchildren were heading home in a tricycle - a motorcycle and a sidecar commonly used as a mode of public transport in the country - when strong winds blew down a large tree onto their vehicle in Malabang town,

The tropical storm, with windspeeds over 198 kilometers per hour, has led to several deaths in the Philippines areas of Malabang and Zamboanga, as well as displacing around 13,000 people. All flights at Shanghai's two major airports have been canceled.
