WASHINGTON — The Senate voted along party lines Thursday to confirm Russell Vought as the next head of the Office of Management and Budget despite fierce pushback from Democrats. Although Democrats have been divided over various Trump nominees, they unified in opposition to Vought.

Russell Vought has been confirmed as the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget by the US Senate, despite strong Democratic opposition. Vought, previously holding the same post, is key in Trump’s plan for reshaping the federal government.

Vought was one of the architects of the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a conservative blueprint for Trump’s second term.
