This was my first time in Cornwall, and I had only known the region for its greatest hits: beef-filled pasties, seaside holidays, a cultural identity that carries an independent political streak.

As a lifelong Chicagoan, I firmly believe this city is the perfect backdrop for any celebration. Am I biased? Sure, maybe.
