U.S. President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama of "treason" on Tuesday, accusing him, without providing evidence, of leading an effort to falsely tie him to Russia and undermine his 2016 presidential campaign.

Although it had been rare for there to be so much friction between current and former occupants of the Oval Office, Obama has been a frequent target of Trump’s attacks.

Trump called unabating interest in sex offender Jeffrey Epstein a “witch hunt” and insisted that it’s his predecessor who deserves more scrutiny.
