Four astronauts on the Artemis II mission are heading towards the far side of the Moon after completing a critical engine burn to leave Earth's orbit

The four astronauts on the Artemis II mission have now left the Earth's orbit, after their Orion spacecraft fired its main engine for a final push towards the Moon.

The custom suits are equipped with survival gear in case the crew has to exit the spacecraft after splashdown — and are easily visible in the ocean.
