TACOMA, Wash. — A western Washington drug trafficker who described women as "live shipping containers" during federal wiretaps was sentenced Friday in a Tacoma court. Sean Michael Moinette, 46, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his leadership role in an organization that moved fentanyl and methamphetamine across Puget Sound.

In other recorded calls, Moinette discussed using women as “live shipping containers” to transport fentanyl out of state and also considered transporting drugs by airplane to Alaska.

Following his inauguration, Trump imposed a Feb. 1 deadline for both countries to begin complying with his border and immigration policies or risk the tariffs.

The drug is increasingly manufactured in and trafficked from the U.S.’s northern neighbor, though the numbers remain small compared with Mexico.
