Patriotism is an oft-spoken word around Independence Day — and whenever there are historic moments grabbing Americans' attention, such as U.S. military conflicts or a presidential election.

This election cycle isn't as high profile as a presidential year, but still, voters will have many decisions to make on local leadership as dozens of mayoral and city council seats are up for grabs.

HB267 prevents public unions from collective bargaining, the process where unions meet with employers to negotiate a contract or terms of employment.

The report found the 2024 presidential election saw a drop in Election Day voting and a corresponding increase in early, in-person voting. Election Day voting declined from 49% in 2022 to roughly 37% in 2024, when 35% took advantage of voting early.

Gov. Spencer Cox’s latest executive order states HB267 referendum will be a part of the 2026 general election.
