With a change in administration, American Airlines is once again trying to revive its joint venture with JetBlue.

American Airlines has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a lower-court decision that found its now-scrapped U.S. Northeast partnership with JetBlue Airways violated federal antitrust law.

American Airlines has requested that US Supreme Court evaluate its blocked Northeast Alliance partnership with JetBlue.

To survive, JetBlue’s leadership has acknowledged that the Queens-based carrier needs an airline partnership of some sort to help it grow its offerings and better compete in the industry. JetBlue’s CEO Marty St. George emphasized last month that the airline is eager to revive its Northeast Alliance.

With a new Administration in the White House, American Airlines is trying to resurrect its planned Northeast alliance with JetBlue. The DOJ sued to block the alliance due to competition concerns but American is now petitioning the highest court, hoping for a different outcome. It has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse the decision.
