Kansas coach Bill Self has heard the chatter from some in the basketball world that he may retire after this season and he has an emphatic response. “No,” Self told NJ Advance Media by text. Kansas (19-9, 10-7 Big 12) began the year as the preseason No. 1 team in the nation, but on Monday dropped out of the poll.

The Jayhawks started the year living up to their preseason No. 1 ranking. Wins over Duke, Michigan State, and North Carolina had everyone buzzing. That Duke victory might still be one of the best wins in college basketball this season. Kansas looked dominant—until they didn’t.

In all three of Duke’s losses, there were struggles on the glass. Against Kentucky, Kansas and Clemson, the Blue Devils had an average rebounding margin of minus-6.0 – a shocking figure considering their average margin of plus-8.2 (No. 10 in the country).

The final Saturday of February is here and the stakes are high for college basketball teams as they battle for their NCAA Tournament positions, jockey for conference title hopes and try and climb their way up the projected seeding prjections for March Madness.

Florida remains a No. 1 seed in the updated bracketology after it throttled Oklahoma, 85-63, to improve to 23-3 on the season. The Gators haven't entered March Madness higher than a No. 4 seed since the Billy Donovan era. Arizona rebounded from the 62-58 loss to Houston with a 75-67 win at Baylor to stay on the No. 4 seed-line.
