Famed Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been arrested for entering the U.S. illegally and will be deported to Mexico, where he faces organized crime charges, federal officials said Thursday.

US immigration agents have arrested famed Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 39, and plan to deport him to Mexico where he has "an active arrest warrant... for his involvement in organised crime", US officials announced on Thursday.

Professional boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who just days ago lost to Jake Paul in a pay-per-view bout in Anaheim, has been arrested in Studio City and will be deported to his native Mexico.
