The Miami Heat are trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors, CBS Sports NBA insider Bill Reiter confirmed. The deal comes on the eve of the 2025 NBA trade deadline and will send Butler to the Bay Area in exchange for Andrew Wiggins,

Many have been dubious of the Golden State Warriors’ decision to acquire Jimmy Butler in a blockbuster trade with the Miami Heat, especially in light of the $121 million extension the team granted Butler.

Even though Jimmy Butler informed the Warriors he would not sign an extension if he was traded there, the six-time All-Star landed there anyway. Moments after the news broke that Butler was traded from the Heat to the Warriors, however, he reportedly agreed to a two-year extension with the franchise anyway.
