Voters in Maine and Texas have considered Republican-backed proposals that proponents say would safeguard elections, but opponents believe are intended to make voting more difficult.

In Mayville, voters there rejected a proposal to renew and restore the non-homestead millage for Mayville Community Schools. Money from this millage is used by the district for its day-to-day operations that include student programs, staffing, school safety and services.
