Everyone on the outside of this situation is still confused about this trade, including the former majority owner of the Mavericks. Mark Cuban (now a Dallas minority owner) spoke about the trade on the "Your Mom's House" podcast in which he basically said the trade would've never happened had he still been the one making the decisions.

The Dallas Mavericks shocked the NBA when they decided to trade the face of their franchise Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis ahead of the trade deadline in February. Among those shocked was Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban, who recalled learning about the trade shortly after it took place.

Cuban has tried to hold back when discussing the Mavericks decision to trade Doncic, but he recently dropped the gloves when looking at the deal. Cuban admitted that he was "dumbfounded" by the trade, and that had he still been involved with the team, the trade never would have taken place.
