While many have predicted that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is next in line for a big-money contract extension, the team actually has the ability to hold off on his new deal for a few years.

Phase Two is when on-field work begins, although it's limited. No contact is permitted by the NFL and offense vs. defense drills aren't allowed. The 49ers will have Phase Two sessions May 27-28, May 30, June 2-3 and June 5. Then they'll get a few days off before Phase Three with mandatory minicamp.
