According to reports, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has 'responded' to interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea after an 'offer' was submitted.

Chelsea are prepared to oversee a fire-sale this month in order to fund a move to re-sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old left Stamford Bridge to move across London in 2021, and has since established himself as a critical player at both club and international level.

Chelsea’s first offer to Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi has been described as “silly” as they attempt to bolster Enzo Maresca’s backline. Guehi emerged as a January transfer target for the Blues after long-term injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, with Maresca admitting that they may need to dip into the market this month.

Chelsea are said to be “actively considering” the idea of going after Marc Guéhi, presumably instead of recalling Chalobah rather than in addition to recalling the player already under contract with us. As Palace manager Oliver Glasner said, do we really need eight center backs? (Now, if we had kept Guéhi and Chalobah all along instead...)
