A woman has been arrested in connection to the death of a 13-year-old family member who was in her care in Calera. Jacquline Elizabeth Adams, 58, was arrested after an extensive investigation, according to Calera police. Ledarius Johnson was taken to the Shelby Baptist Medical Center on Aug. 8, and died there that day, according to the coroner.

The Calera Police Chief David Hyche shared information about a woman accused in the death of her 13-year-old family member. The Shelby County coroner confirms Ledarius Johnson died back in August. Jacqueline Adams is charged with felony murder and aggravated child abuse.
