One of the strangest transfer portal stories in recent memory is ending like many others. On3’s Pete Nakos reports wide receiver Hardley Gilmore has signed with Nebraska. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Nebraska’s reset of its receiver position continues into 2025 as the Huskers add a promising young prospect with an existing staff connection.

Kentucky on Saturday reportedly lost a member of its receiver corps to the transfer portal. Hardley Gilmore, a top 100 wide receiver from the class of 2024, opted to enter the portal on Saturday, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer. Saturday marks the final day of the winter portal session.

Nebraska football has picked up another commitment from the transfer portal. Former Kentucky Wildcat wide receiver Hardley Gilmore IV committed to Nebraska on Wednesday afternoon. Gilmore had six catches for 153 yards and a touchdown last season.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers wide receiver room is going to have a decidedly Kentucky football feel to it in 2025. First, Wildcats receivers coach Daikiel Shorts left for the same position at Nebraska, then Dane Key committed through the transfer portal.
