A man jumped a fence early on New Year’s Day, entered the New York mayor’s official residence and stole a Christmas ornament, the police said. The mayor, Eric Adams, was not there.

Michael Aromando, 20, was arrested inside a bedroom in the mayoral mansion at 4:24 a.m. New Year’s Day, shortly after hopping a perimeter fence and leading cops on a short foot chase, sources told The Post.

When arrested, Aromando was reportedly carrying a Christmas ornament he had taken from a drawer inside the residence.

Mayor Adams was not home when Michael Aromando was nabbed on the second floor of the mansion after climbing over a fence to gain access.
