HOUSTON (AP) — Derrick White made six 3-pointers and scored 28 points and the Boston Celtics used a big third quarter to build the lead and cruise to a 114-93 win over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.

The Celtics added one big man to their rotation on Tuesday night by dealing for Nikola Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Anfernee Simons. However, it appears the Celtics kicked the tires on at least one bigger name before pulling the trigger on the Vucevic acquisition.

Jaylen Brown addressed Jayson Tatum's recent comments about being hesitant about returning, saying that whenever Tatum makes the decision and is ready, the team is eager to get him back.

The move reunites Porzingis with veteran big man Al Horford, who left the Celtics last summer to sign with the Warriors. Boston traded Porzingis to Atlanta during the same offseason roster overhaul, but injuries and illness limited him to 17 games for the Hawks. He did not dress for either of the Hawks’ games against the Celtics.

The Mavericks limped onto their home court and tucked their tails for a fifth-straight loss.
