We came from the east across miles & miles of barren open land so driving from Show Low down through the forest area was a nice change heading to Globe. Going south it very tricky to turn into scenic…Full review by tonyk744

You don’t need an SUV or 4 wheel drive, the road is all paved. However if you wish to take some of the unmade roads higher into the mountains then you probably would. Remember that h the winter there is snow and ice in the roads so care is needed. The road goes right to the bottom of the canyon and up the other side! It is amazing.
