Can a handicapped person visit the ocmulgee mounds? How much walking is involved in a tour?
A:
Yes, the mounds by the Visitor Center are accessible. However, the Pyramid mounds have many stairs. you can drive a vehicle around and see it from the base though.
Should be open for standard hours 9am-5pm. The NPS website only has it closed on their calendar for Dec 25th to Jan 1st. Please call (478) 752-8257 x222 to make sure.
