Paddle boarding on Óbidos Lagoon is a great change of pace from the sometimes crowded Óbidos walled city. We rented from the Escola de Velha (sailing school), which also serves very casual lunches in…Full review by careyontravels

So peaceful and complete contrast to the village. Great paths to walk along and kite surfers to watch. Full review by GoPlaces99681

This place is nice to walk around or you can also go by bike. You can see lots of birds over here, you can also spot flamingos.Full review by NoeB1

Hey there, I am looking into a summer vacation in Portugal for this summer. We are 4 adults and a 4 months year old baby. We are planning on staying 10 days and would like to experience water sports such as kite, surf, SUP, nature walks, beach but also cultural things to visit. I was recommended Lagoa de Obidos. Do yo think 10 days are too many to stay in that area, is it recommended travelling with a baby and where do you recommend to stay exactly? Thanks for your feedback!

There is a water sports centre on the lagoon and other sports would be available at other beaches. The nature walks on the three sides of the lagoon could be spread over three days. Obidos takes half a day but could be longer if you stay for lunch. Alcobacar monastery can take a whole day and there are cafes in the square outside. Batalha monastery is worth a visit as it is a different type of building. Caldas da Rainha is interesting and the market is very good. I can't help with the baby side or with accommodation as we stayed in a windmill, not suitable for more than a couple, however you will find a wide choice on the internet. Hope this helps.
