Balasan, officially the Municipality of Balasan, is a municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 35,064 people. Balasan derived its name from "Balas" meaning sand which are still found in abundance along the Banks of Bangon River where the first settlement was founded.
